A Bit About Me
My name is Griffin Haag, and I'm pursuing an Associate's degree in Web Programming and Database Development and a Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity at Dunwoody College of Technology, with an anticipated graduation date of May 2027.
I enjoy programming as well as developing and designing websites. My favorite language is Python, and I have a passion for developing web projects using HTML, CSS, JavaScript and PHP.
I am proud to have achieved the rank of Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts, and I apply the same work ethic to the technology projects that I pursue.
My love for programming started at age 9 when I began to have an interest in computers and I started participating in summer technology camps. From there, I progressed to building my own computer, becoming a volunteer web developer for our troop's website for the Boy Scouts of America, and designing a website for a taxi driving service.
My favorite parts about creating projects are seeing them come to life and problem-solving. I particularly love learning new material and persevering until I achieve the final result. I'm up for any challenge if it's on a computer.

Diploma from Minnetonka High School

Web Dev/Database Engineering & Cybersecurity program at Dunwoody College of Technology 2023-2027

Built a private taxi service website named "SheShuttle"

In high school, I took the following classes: Intro to Comp Sci, Comp Sci A, and AP Comp Sci. These classes showed me that this is what I enjoy doing, and they allowed me to refine my knowledge of programing languages.

Attended iD Tech comp sci camps from 2013-2020

iD Tech Camps
Comp Sci Summer Camps
iD Tech camps are week-long summer courses/camps related to web development and programming. I attended these courses every summer from age 9 until I reached the age limit for the camp at 18 years old. Courses that I took included: Coding Apps & Games with C++; Code Apps with Java; Assemble, Invent and Code Your Take-Home Laptop, Coding & Development 101, Minecraft 3D Game Design, Intro to Java Programming with Minecraft, Movie Making Camp with iMovie, Intro to Programming with Scratch & Java.
2009-2021
Webmaster, Boy Scouts of America
Webmaster for troop's website
I achieved the Eagle Scout rank in the Boy Scouts, and I also volunteered to be the webmaster for our troop’s website. In this role, I regularly updated the content of the website.
2018-2022
Comp Sci/UX Design classes
Programming/Web Dev classes in high school
My passion for programming continued; however, in high school it shifted more into developing beautiful websites. I found the languages came to me easily, and I also enjoyed the graphic design element of it. In high school I furthered my knowledge of JavaScript, C++, and Python. However, my greatest learnings in high school were how to complete a project before a deadline and how to assess how much time a project would take to complete.
2023
Developed website for first client
SheShuttle
While riding in an Uber, I started talking with the driver Cheryl, and I learned that she needed a personal taxi business website to be developed for her. I developed her website to help her to increase sales for her business, and I learned that I loved working with a client.
2023-Present
Developed personal projects
Python & Web
Over the past two years, I’ve enjoyed developing various projects that have significantly expanded my programming knowledge. These projects include:
-
A personalized movie generator using IMDb’s API
-
Machine learning image and webcam recognition software in Python
-
A customizable chatbot powered by OpenAI’s API
-
An endless runner game in Java
-
A “Truth or Griddy” online questionnaire game for friends
-
Functional online store using PHP & mySQL
Each of these projects has been both a learning experience and a lot of fun to create.
2023-2027
Enrolled at Dunwoody
Web Dev & Database Engineering and Cybersecurity
Currently pursuing an Associate's Degree in Web Development and Database Engineering and a Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity at Dunwoody College of Technology, with an anticipated graduation date of May 2025. I absolutely love all the computer science classes I'm taking.
2024-Present
iD Tech instructor
Teaching Python
After 9 years of attending iD Tech Camps, I was thrilled to become an instructor. In 2024, I was teaching teenagers how to program in Python. Over time, I have built awesome projects with my students and learned not only responsibility but also how to explain programming in a way that's easy to understand. I really enjoy talking about what I love and sharing my passion for programming, and this job has been very exciting for me.
